Can we get Tracy to take a look at this simulation for approval?
Also, the backoff is called out on the major OD only. I am assuming the backoff dimensions are actually for the pilot OD.
Does the major diameter get backed off?

Tracy looked at this simulation today and all looks pretty good for the most part. The only concern was the gash wheel dubbing the margin on the heel side of the flute. Perhaps a different angled gash wheel would keep this from happening...?
You are correct, the back off specs are for the pilot diameter and the major diameter does not have a back off operation.

It sounds like you are describing the operation programmed to grind off the tit left on the 2nd margine after grinding the step... Can you confirm that and advise me on how to proceed?
