the st0825 tools were making a loud noise when grinding flute. maria and i stopped the tool to investigate and saw that the tool was rolling up into the arbor and causing the noise. tracey okayed the flute length to be .150 shorter than the nominal tolerance for the 2nd flute of our first tool and both flutes on the last tool. as of 8:45 am there are still no scrap tools.

I imagine a flat 1A1 flute wheel might solve that problem the next time.

More importantly, I would also add that in the future when we hear an irregular noise we perhaps investigate a little more thorough into what is the cause. This is in no way good for the machine and could have been prevented after hearing and observing the 1st tool. This is also another great reason to dry run the machine!
